Mumford and Sons

A wonderful band hailing from London. They are classified as folksy bluegrass. The band consists of four members and the folk/bluegrass sound comes from having a banjo, mandolin, and dobro as regular instruments in their songs. Lyrically they are hopeful, contemplative, and insightful. I find most of these songs hitting close to home. If you don't already have this album... GO GET IT NOW!

Bridezilla

The first full length album to be released from this five-piece Australian group. The bands main features are the female vocalist's haunting voice and the violin. The video posted below features my favorite song so far on the album. Check out their myspace page for a really awkward but enjoyable music video of the song Western Front.

Freelance Whales

This group's debut album Weather Vanes releases on April 13th and if you can't wait to hear it then see the link below. This album conveys as many emotions as they have instruments which taps into the wide arrangement of harmonium, banjo, glockenspiel, synthesizers, guitars, bass, drums, and waterphone. It's a masterfully crafted pop album that keeps you wanting more.

Fang Island

Fang Island has turned an art school project into an amazing album/group. They describe their sound as "everyone high-fiving everyone." The entire listen through is uplifting and makes you want to start a happy day parade. The vocal harmonies gives the tracks an anthem-like feel. I guarantee you won't be able to stop listening to this album.
